Leicester College of Technology was formed in 1929. It originated in 1882 when the Leicester Technical School began classes in the Ellis Wing of Wyggeston Boys School. Now part of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, it still teaches from its original base in the Hawthorn Building.
